How To Rebuild Your Credit in 12 – 18 Months – Part 3

On my previous posts, I shared a couple of strategies on how to rebuild your credit

that have been proven to work for dozens of families that I have helped in the past.  I’ve seen results from as low as 25 to as high as 130 points on an increase in their FICO scores.

Now, let’s be adults here. I can’t guarantee that any of these strategies will work for you just because I don’t know if you will implement them properly.  Also, keep in mind that this information is for education purposes.  However, if you do implement them, I am confident based on my own experience that you will see some sort of improvement.

How To Rebuild Your Credit – Strategy #3 – Using Other Peoples Credit

This strategy on how to rebuild your credit can be proven to work well, however if not used properly, it can also damage or worsen your credit.  The concept behind this is to ask a trusted family member or friend to add you to his credit card as a user.  It is important that he/she should have a good credit history because his/her good credit use will be passed on to you in a sense.

After your family member or friend receives your credit card in the mail, tell them to simply shred it.  This will give your family member or friend piece of mind that you will not have access to his/her credit card.

The good use of his/her credit will be reported on a monthly basis to their credit and to yours as well.

Now, as I said before, there is a potential problem with this strategy.  If your family member or friend does not pay his/her credit card bill on time, then that will also be reported to your credit.  So it is very important that you are certain and trust this person that he/she has had a good credit history and that he/she will pay their bills on time.

As with my other strategies on how to rebuild your credit.  Pick and choose any of these strategies, even if it’s only one of them.  You will see some sort of improvement on your credit.  The more of these strategies you implement, the faster your credit will be repaired and your FICO score will rise faster.

The most important thing about repairing your credit is to take action.  Your credit will remain the same if you do nothing.
