the umpire when the roof would be brought into use.  Then tournament referee came onto the court at 8:40pm to speak to umpire Garner and surprised Murray by ordering the closing of the roof.

Murray wasted his time arguing that he had enough light to finish the game without the roof even after seeing Janowicz demoralized on the court.  In the end, it didn’t matter because Murray ended up reaching his 2nd successive Wimbledon final facing the #1 ranked single player Novak Djokovic.

Djokovic who beat Argentina’s finest Juan Martin Del Potro at the Wimbledon 2013 semi-final, taking advantage of Juan Martin’s beat up knee who first damaged his knee in the 4th round match and injured it in his stunning quarter final win match against David Ferrer.  Novak knew that because of Juan Martin’s injury, he had a good chance to win the semi-final.

In arguable what most believe is the best match of the tournament, Djokovic won the match 7-5, 4-6, 7-6(2), 6-7(8), 6-3 in an amazing and epic feat of 4 hours and 43 minutes, making it the longest semi-final in Wimbledon history.

Djokovic went on to say:

It was one of the best matches that I’ve been a part of.  It was one of the best matches that I’ve been a part of,” said Djokovic. “One of the most exciting. It was so close, really. [I] couldn’t separate us. Every time he’s in a tough situation he comes up with a great shot.
