I’ve learned that it’s not just about blog content writing that comes off the top of your head, but more like writing content that becomes viral so people can share and spread your link.  There are 5 key elements that create the perfect blog.  So next time when you are doing blog content writing, keep this in mind and you will have better success with your posts.

if you were to follow these 5 key elements as listed below, you will be able to provide better and more viral blog posts.

Viral Blog Content Writing Element #1 – Scarcity

By always providing valuable information, your readers will become attached in some sense to your content, meaning that if they were not to read your blog, they will have a sense of “missing out” on your valuable information.  If your blog post does not offer any value, then the reader will not be inclined to come back because they have nothing to lose.

By providing rich-filled content within your posts, people become addicted to your blog.  They not only bookmark your blog and come back on a regular basis, but they will also share with their friends and tell them that they too will be missing out if they don’t see what you have written today.

Viral Blog Content Writing Element #2 – The Share Magic Button

The less steps people need to take to share your content, the more they will share it because they will not have to go out of their way to do so. Share buttons are essential for any blog.  They provide an easy way to share with your readers’ friends, hence making it viral.

According to a study completed by BrightEdge, they found that by having a “Share” button on your blog makes your post 7 times more likely to be shared with their friends. Simply ask your readers at the end of each post to share your post.  People often will share it if you just ask.

Viral Blog Content Writing Element #3 – Make It Easy To Skim Through

It’s been shown that most readers only read about 20% of web pages.  So by having key elements, titles or quotes, it makes it a lot easier for people to gain more valuable content through these methods.

According to Jacob Nielson:

“On the average Web page, users have time to read at most 28% of the words during an average visit; 20% is more likely.” ~ Nielson

By simply adding bullet points, pictures, bolded or italic text will break up your content in easier chunks and have a greater percentage of your blog read than others that don’t implement these strategies.

Viral Blog Content Writing Element #4 – Practical Utility

Let’s be honest, we want to make more money and work less.  In order to make this a reality, we need to become smarter by learning and researching out there what works or not.  After all, blogging and internet marketing is now a science and the more you know, the better you will be at what you do, hence create more traffic to your site.

Well, if you provide practical advice where people can immediately go out there and apply what you have written about, then your content will also become viral because that’s what we all want. So if you provide something easy to follow, then it will be easy to become viral as well.

MOZ (previously SEOMOZ) conducted a study on articles shared from the New York Times. They found out that Practical Utility is more viral than anything else. Check out their results below.

Viral Blog Content Writing Element #5 – Consistency = Viral

I can’t stress on this point enough.  Consistency is probably the #1 reason why bloggers fail.  They think that by writing for a a few weeks or months, they will have thousands of people rushing to their blogs.  The reality is that Google rewards blogs that provide ongoing content.

Think about it for a minute.  If your blog post would appear on the first page of Google after a few weeks and then you stop blogging, people will come and see that the content is actually outdated.  In the eyes of the reader, your blog sucks in addition to potentially criticizing the results of Google who referred you to the site because they are the ones that placed that site on the first page of Google after all.  It’s like they are recommending your site to be read.   If you are not consistent with your blog, it makes Google look bad.

There is a reason why Google provides over 65% of web traffic.  That’s more than 4 times the amount of traffic than their closest competitors (Yahoo and Bing).  When you search something on Google, there’s a 90% chance that you will find good content on the first page, and that’s why they are the #1 search engine on the net.  So if we don’t play by Google’s rules, we won’t get to play at all.  Simple.

All the successful blogs you see out there have “made it” because they have been consistent, persistent, improved and stayed focus on their goals for the long haul.  When all of these key elements on blog content writing are implemented, you can bet your bottom dollar that you will eventually become an online authority.

I hope this blog post has been helpful to you.  Take action with these key elements starting today, I promise you won’t regret it.  Oh, and I almost forgot…  Share this post with your friends. :o )

To Your Success!
